    Description
  • Our client is searching for a highly qualified computational chemist to lead computational chemistry activities within the company.
  • The successful candidate will be working within multi-disciplinary teams to apply computational chemistry techniques, cheminformatics and diverse molecular modelling approaches for the purpose of executing chemical screening campaigns, supporting medicinal chemistry activities in drug design, and advancing small-molecule drug discovery programs.
  • The ideal candidate will be creative, detail-oriented and a problem solver with a passion for drug discovery and a track record of applying diverse, cutting-edge computational chemistry and cheminformatics methods, with a working knowledge of machine learning approaches, to solve problems at all stages of the drug discovery and development process.
  • Design and optimize small molecules using advanced computational techniques such as protein modelling, molecular dynamics, QSAR models, molecular docking based on X-ray or homology models, ligand-based design, library design, diversity analysis, conformational analysis, favourable drug property prediction and pharmacophore modelling
  • Work closely with members of the medicinal chemistry teams in the use of visualisation tools / SAR analysis and other aspects of computational chemistry
  • Ph. D. in computational chemistry or a related scientific field with a computational focus on small molecule drug design, and robust experience and success in an industrial drug-hunting environment
  • A passion for drug discovery, a thorough understanding of medicinal chemistry concepts, DMPK principles and multi-parameter optimization, and a comprehensive knowledge of data mining and visualization
  • Extensive experience with scientific software such as Schrödinger / CCG / Open Eye / Cresset, Pipeline Pilot, Spotfire, Knime, as well as any other computational chemistry software useful for drug discovery
