Description

The Procurement Analyst will be responsible for evaluating and completing IT purchasing assignments, exercising authority to make IT-related sourcing decisions within defined dollar limit.

The Procurement Analyst will work closely with customers across the university to source hardware, software, and other IT-related equipment or services, considering campus guidelines and a variety of other factors such as price, quality, warranties, etc.

in their independent evaluation of purchasing and reimbursement requests.

This role will harness financial expertise in executing transactions across various IT domains, including identifying vendors, requesting and evaluating quotes, negotiating terms, coordinating with the Billing and Vendor Management Analysts, resolving problems related to orders and fulfillment, and maintaining an inventory of IT purchases.

The Procurement Analyst will provide knowledge and guidance to support the IT Financial Management function in finding solutions that meet the needs of end-users, abide by campus policy, and promote fiscal responsibility.

The Procurement Analyst will positively impact UCLA's operations and culture by ensuring IT's procurement is managed appropriately in service of the institution's academic mission.

Salary & Compensation

  • UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. Qualifications

  • Three years Experience working in one or more of the following fields: procurement, billing, finance, accounting, public administration, business administration, or another related field. (required)
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. (required)
  • Experience performing data analysis to drive informed procurement decisions and solve procurement challenges. (required)
  • Experience participating in activities to advance an inclusive environment that values equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging. (required)
  • Five or more years Experience working in one or more of the following fields: procurement, billing, finance, accounting, public administration, business administration. (preferred)
  • Experience in complex higher education environments, serving academic and administrative functions of a large public university. (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes and regulations, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, purchase order management, as well as other leading IT products and services. (required)
  • Strong vendor relationship management skills, including vendor selection, contract management, negotiating to secure favorable contract terms pricing, and performance monitoring. (required)
  • Solid understanding of implementing procurement regulations and compliance requirements to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements. (required)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and is able to communicate technical information and ideas to a diverse community of colleagues and stakeholders. (required)
  • Able to establish and advance positive working relationships and a strong rapport with team members, stakeholders, and customers. (required)
  • Strong organizational skills and is able to balance competing priorities and support concurrent projects. Experience working in a projectbased environment using leading project management practices including schedule management, status reporting, and communication of project risks and issues. (required)
  • Strong demonstrated problemsolving skills; scopes solutions based on knowledge of available resources and timelines. Able to ask questions, gather information, evaluate options, and make decisions with integrity. (required)
  • Thinks creatively and proposes innovative ideas, including the incorporation of new technologies or processes. Is able to work with agility in a fastpaced environment. (required)

Special Conditions for Employment

  • This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that includes regular visits to campus as needed (for those who work remotely, travel/lodging expenses are not eligible for reimbursement).


The anticipated pay range for this position is $81,346 - $90,384 annually; salary is dependent upon the skills and experience of the selected finalist.
