Position Goal:


The Director of Human Resources is responsible for providing leadership according to the District's vision, mission and goals and provides supervision and support for Human Resources and matters related to the schools.

The Director of Human Resources will work collaboratively with the Leadership Team to administer methods, programs and procedures to maximize the district strategic plan and goals.

The position reports directly to the Superintendent.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


Develop and Implement HR Policies:

Create and enforce policies and procedures in line with federal and state regulations as well as district guidelines.


Recruitment and Selection:
Oversee the recruitment process for all district positions, ensuring fair and unbiased selection procedures. Also responsible for managing the Student Teacher Program.


Employee Relations:
Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures.


Benefits Administration:
Oversight of the employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.


Performance Management:
Develop and implement performance evaluation systems for all staff members, providing guidance and support to supervisors.


Training and Development:
Coordinate professional development opportunities for staff to enhance skills and knowledge in their respective roles.


Compensation Management:
Oversee salary structures, compensation plans, and salary adjustments in accordance with district budget and policies.


Compliance and Legal Matters:
Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.


Workforce Planning:
Develop strategies for attracting, retaining, and developing a diverse and qualified workforce to meet the district's needs.


HR Data Management:
Maintain accurate records of employee information, including personnel files, attendance records, and performance evaluations.


Conflict Resolution:
Mediate disputes and conflicts between employees or between employees and management to promote a positive work environment.


Employee Wellness Programs:
Implement initiatives to promote employee wellness, including health and wellness programs, stress management, and work-life balance initiatives.


Safety and Health Compliance:
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the workplace, including OSHA standards and emergency preparedness.


Strategic Planning:

Collaborate with district leadership to align HR strategies with the overall goals and objectives of the district, contributing to long-term planning and organizational development.


Combs Education Foundation:
Oversee the Combs Educational Foundation as the Executive Director. Provide planning, communication and implementation of Foundation events.


Title IX District Coordinator:

Ensures the district's adherence to Title IX regulations, overseeing investigations of complaints related to gender-based discrimination or harassment and implementing policies and procedures to promote a safe and inclusive educational environment for all students and staff.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Arizona Administrative Certificate
  • Minimum 3 years of successful teaching experience
  • Minimum 3 years of school administrator experience
  • Minimum 2 years of district administrator experience
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills, organizational skills, integrity, a strong work ethic, and knowledge of all aspects of K-12 education
  • Master's Degree in Education or related field
  • Ph.
D. or Ed.
D preferred

  • Human Resource administrative experience preferred
