Director of Community Relations & Marketing
Job Description
Position Goal:
The Director of Community Relations and Marketing is responsible for providing leadership according to the District's vision, mission and goals and provides supervision and support for community relations, marketing and community education.
The Director of Community Relations and Marketing will work collaboratively with the Leadership Team to administer methods, programs and procedures to maximize the district strategic plan and goals.
The position reports directly to the Superintendent.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Community Engagement & Partnership Engagement:
Develop and maintain positive relationships with community members, local organizations, businesses, and other stakeholders to promote collaboration and support for the district's mission and meet identified goals and objectives.
Identify and cultivate partnerships with local businesses, organizations, and institutions to provide resources, opportunities, and support for district initiatives and programs.
Public & Media Relations:
Serve as the primary spokesperson for the district, effectively communicating its achievements, initiatives, and events to the media, community, and stakeholders through press releases, newsletters, social media, and other channels.
Cultivate relationships with local media outlets, respond to media inquiries, and arrange interviews or press conferences to disseminate accurate information about district activities and initiatives.
Marketing Strategy:
Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to enhance the district's image and visibility, attract new students, retain existing ones and meet identified goals and objectives.
Brand Management:
Ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all district communications and materials to build and maintain a strong and recognizable brand identity.
Event Planning:
Coordinate marketing assets and deliverables for district events, such as open houses, information sessions, and community forums, to engage stakeholders and promote positive relationships.
Crisis Communication:
Develop and implement crisis communication plans to effectively address and mitigate negative situations or emergencies, ensuring transparency and maintaining public trust.
Digital Media Management:
Oversee the district's website, social media accounts, and other digital platforms to ensure they are up-to-date, user-friendly, and aligned with district messaging and branding.
Content Creation:
Create engaging and informative content, including articles, videos, and graphics to highlight student achievements, showcase district programs, and promote events.
Community Outreach Programs:
Develop and implement promotion of outreach programs to engage underserved or underrepresented communities, fostering inclusivity and equity within the district utilizing multiple platforms and assets.
Surveys and Feedback:
Collect feedback from stakeholders through surveys, focus groups, and other methods to assess community perceptions, needs, and priorities, informing strategic planning and decision-making.
Government Relations:
Collaborate with local government officials and agencies to advocate for the district's interests, secure funding, and address legislative or policy issues affecting education.
Internal Communications:
Facilitate effective communication within the district by disseminating information to staff members, administrators, and other internal stakeholders, promoting transparency and collaboration.
Evaluation and Reporting:
Monitor the effectiveness of communication and marketing efforts through data analysis, feedback, and evaluation metrics, and prepare reports for district leadership and stakeholders.
Campaign Execution:
Development, implementation, and evaluation of cross platform campaigns, to include key areas such as student enrollment or employee recruitment. Responsible for overseeing campaign metrics, digital advertising, managing ad spends, and overseeing the CRM software.
QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor's degree required in communications, marketing, public relations or related field
Must possess and maintain valid DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
Minimum of 5 years of experience leading marketing and communications projects, in both digital and print formats
Must be knowledgeable of various information and media platforms including news outlets, social media platforms, website content management, etc.
Experience with Facebook and Google Ads and managing advertising spend is preferred
Experience in graphic design and capturing and editing photo and video content to create engaging marketing assets
Ability to analyze organizational needs and data to assist in the development and implementation of projects, initiatives, and key functions that support the district's vision
Possesses strong communication skills, both oral and written
Experience in event coordinating and planning
Ability to develop and maintain a good rapport with parents, staff and community
