- Develop and implement a comprehensive and developmentally appropriate curriculum for 1st grade students, focusing on literacy, numeracy, science, and social studies.
- Create a positive and engaging learning environment that fosters a love for learning and exploration.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students and provide additional support or enrichment as needed.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, materials, and technology to enhance student learning and engagement.
- Foster social-emotional skills and positive behavior through consistent routines, classroom management, and character education.
- Assess student progress regularly through informal observations, formative assessments, and occasional formal evaluations.
- Communicate regularly with parents to provide updates on student progress, share successes, and address any concerns.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and coordinate grade-level activities, field trips, and special events.
- Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or related field (Masters degree preferred).
- Valid South Carolina teaching certification in Early Childhood Education (PK-3) or Elementary Education (grades 2-6).
- Previous experience working with young children, preferably in a classroom setting.
- Strong understanding of early childhood development, literacy instruction, and numeracy concepts.
- Patient, nurturing, and compassionate approach to teaching young children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Proficiency in using technology for instructional purposes.
