- Create an atmosphere that fosters a sense of Belonging among participants and helps them gain confidence through Achievement while building Relationships with and among participants.
- Create and maintain a safe environment both physically and emotionally for all participants
- Establish a relaxed, unstructured feel to activities, with more emphasis on the "how" and the "why" of the activities rather than on the activities themselves.
- Lead, supervise, evaluate and provide feedback for staff team
- Ensure planning is in place for Choice Activities, Large Group Activities and Club Time
- Engage leaders and participants in the planning of activities
- Plan and orchestrate daily flow
- Make sure schedules, supplies, materials, etc. are ready for each day
- Maintain the Y-Voice in all that you say, do, and think in regards to your program ~ Welcoming, Nurturing, Hopeful, Determined, Genuine
- Establish positive relationships with participants, leaders and parents
- Plan and lead Team Meetings in a way that reflects the values you want to see in program
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or designated staff person.
- Demonstrate and support the objectives of the Association as embodied in the mission statement and values.
- Ability to read, write, and perform simple mathematical functions.
- Must be 21 years of age
- Minimum of two (2) years of work experience with youth
- Minimum of one (1) year of work experience in a supervisor / leadership role
- Approval by State of Iowa Licensing requirements including pre-employment physical
- Current Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED Certification OR equivalent - prior to starting.
- Intro to Y's Cause & Culture Online Course - prior to starting if hired.
- Additional training to be completed within the first 30 days and maintained afterwards.

HOURS/DAYS SCHEDULE:Monday-Friday during program hours of 6:30a-6:00p
PAY RANGE: $16.75-$18.00/hour

POSITION SUMMARY:The Child Care Site Leader is responsible for creating and leading a culture and environment that supports our program objectives of Belonging, Achievement and Relationships, supervising and engaging program participants and staff, organizing and managing program activities, and establishing positive relationships with participants, parents and staff team members.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, bend/stoop, climb/use stairs and reach/push/pull. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
