The Advanced Flow Solutions Buyer of Outside Processing will perform and manage the buying, logistics, and tracking function for assigned vendors and assure continuous supply of assigned components across our outside processed components to maintain required levels of material to support production requirements at optimum cost while ensuring materials meet or exceed AFS quality requirements.
**In this function you will:**
Maintain continuing knowledge and an understanding of the companys outside supplier product demands and production scheduling techniques to support the timely availability and procurement of required materials within the current inventory guidelines.
Outside Processing responsibilities: Monitor supplier delivery, quality and customer service performance and develop and track improvement plans when necessary including the issuance of supplier scorecards. Contact suppliers for expedites quality issues, past due shipments, and stock-outs. Ensure timely order and receipt of material to support production planners. Ensure timely processing of outside processing work orders (open and closing) to ensure JDE is up to date with physical location of parts on site, in transit, and at outside processing vendors. Monitor open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery and working capital targets can be achieved.
Periodic review of reorder points and stocking levels for all inventory items in a structured manner to ensure appropriateness
Use MRP (Materials Requirements Planning) to maintain proper inventory levels
Locate and select new and alternate sources of supply to meet the production requirements of the plant.
Establish and maintain effective contacts and working relationships with vendors and suppliers for all necessary information.
Prepare and communicate product specifications to vendors for bid as appropriate and negotiate with the most favorable bidder(s) considering costs, quality, delivery, etc.
Award and administer purchase orders and agreements in accordance with established company policies and procedures.
Develop, coordinate, and manage alliances with key suppliers.
Work with facility design engineers to support significant manufacturing project builds.
Support corporate commodity managers on cost reduction programs.
Support supplier quality team through participation in the APQP/PPAP qualification process.
Support cycle counts for specific brands and / or MRO products and help support annual physical inventory.
Qualifications
**Required Qualifications:**
Bachelors degree
Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
**Preferred qualifications:**
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering or Business from an accredited institution.
One year of experience within production, procurement or engineering within a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge and experience with JDE ERP System
**Position Criteria:**
Knowledge of materials planning systems, production planning, inventory control, and stockroom operations, Kanban.
Basic knowledge of computerized inventory systems, scheduling techniques, general manufacturing, and ability to interpret drawings and prints.
