- Strategy Development: Develop a strategic plan for the drone division aligned with the organization's objectives. Identify target markets, potential clients, and opportunities for growth and expansion.
- Team Leadership: Build and lead a team of drone operators, technicians, analysts, and support staff. Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure their competence in drone operations, safety protocols, data analysis, and customer service.
- Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the drone division in accordance with our procedures, including flight operations, data collection, analysis, and reporting. Ensure compliance with regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the division's client base. Build relationships with potential clients, negotiate contracts, and secure new projects. Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to promote the division's services and capabilities.
- Client Management: Foster strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring their satisfaction and addressing any concerns or issues promptly. Understand client needs and provide customized drone solutions that meet their requirements.
- Financial Management: Develop and manage the division's budget, including revenue projections, expenses, and cost control measures. Monitor financial performance, analyze key metrics, and make data-driven decisions to optimize profitability.
- Technology and Equipment Management: Stay updated with the latest advancements in drone technology and equipment. Evaluate and acquire new drones, sensors, software, and hardware as needed to enhance capabilities and stay competitive.
- Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and consistency of data collected by drones. Establish protocols for data validation, calibration, and quality assurance to deliver high-quality outputs to clients.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Stay informed about local, national, and international regulations governing drone operations. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, obtain necessary permits and certifications, and implement safety protocols. Identify and mitigate risks associated with drone operations, including privacy, security, and safety concerns.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the division's performance and identify areas for improvement. Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities.
- Knowledge of all applicable UAV regulations and policies
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and diagnose minor UAV systems
- Working knowledge of FAA regulations, including part 107 regulations
- Working knowledge and understanding of FAA airspace and how to obtain LAANC authorizations
- Attention to detail
- Good judgment with the ability to react quickly to hazards
- Ability to read and write reports using Microsoft Office
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Must be able to operate and provide routine maintenance to drones
- Must be able to evaluate and asses flight data
- Ability to manage other individuals
