Quality EngineerThe Quality Engineer is responsible for controlling and improving quality throughout all facets of the supply chain including supplier, manufacturing, and customer quality.
This role will be responsible for supervising 5-9 employees, Responsible for assisting with the development of quality systems to support manufacturing quality control and to promote continuous improvement of poor quality processes.
In addition, the role is work collaboratively with various operational teams to solve problems using structured problem solving techniques. Detailed responsibilities are outlined below.What You Will Do:
Facilitates total team performance by active team engagement at the operation.
Work with other team leaders and employees throughout the organization, cooperating to assure the production processes are supported to meet customer requirements.
Lead safety program in area of responsibility through example and positive communication, employee involvement, and recognition.Assure appropriate quality checks and audits are performed by operators to provide product and process quality
Drive problem solving activities utilizing "go and see" approach as needed to confirm countermeasure implementation and effectiveness.
Assist with the report and distribution of manufacturing quality reporting.
Lead manufacturing team with problem solving activities to ensure continuous improvement
Collect and Analyze data to formulate information for driving continuous improvement activities
Facilitate & conduct training of quality check standards to various operation groups
Drive improvement of daily management by creating and promoting a culture of 5S and visual management
Participate in teams to provide capability analysis for new and modified processes
Prepare inspection standards, visual standards and boundary samples for manufacturing processes to support and build in quality culture
Develop and maintain various support quality systems to ensure compliance to company and industry standards.
Develop and review process control plans to identify areas for process improvement
Process daily internal scrap data through scrap database system.
Conduct various data entry functions including process audits and routine customer complaint reporting.
What You Need to Succeed:
2+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment
CMM equipment or similar experience prefered
Team leader experience preferred
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent verbal/written communication skills in dealing with all levels of organization
Knowledge of operations, processes, equipment, and products, preferred but not required
Understanding of Lean Principles and Six Sigma application and usage
Mechanical ability, technical aptitude
