Under the direction of the Manager of Volunteer Services, the Volunteer Services Coordinator provides coordination of the hospital gift shop as well as direct support to the Manager of Volunteer Services.

Oversees the day to day operations of the gift shop which operate to support the ministry. Coordinator is responsible for working within a budget to select and order gift shop merchandise. Coordinator is also responsible for receiving, storage and stocking of gift shop merchandise. Involves guidance and direction by the Volunteer Services Manager. Coordinator is expected to perform most job duties independently.

This individual understands all aspects and activities in the Volunteer Services Department which is maintained to serve the hospital by recruiting, retaining and recognizing an adequate, competent and satisfied volunteer staff.

Knowledge of policies and procedures for in-service training, work hours and services to be performed. Assists manager with scheduling services of volunteer staff. Participates in the screening, training and assignments for incoming volunteers. Works with Volunteer Services manager to plan volunteer programs consistent with hospital needs.

Required qualifications:


  • H.S. Diploma or GED
  • 3 years customer service and retail experience
  • 6 months experience working as a volunteers or with a volunteer organization

Preferred qualifications:


  • Associate's Degree in Marketing/ merchandising / Business

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
