Overview:


The mission of Princeton University Department of Athletics is to strive for excellence in academics and athletics, while embracing equity in opportunity, good sportsmanship, and ethical conduct.


Responsibilities:


  • In partnership with the Senior Associate AD, External Relations and the Assistant AD, Multimedia and Broadcasting, the assistant director will lead efforts to develop and create content to execute strategic plans designed to positively influence and generate increased engagement for and with Princeton Athletics.
  • Work closely with internal and external campus partners to support content needs for departmentwide initiatives, special events, and athleticsrelated campus and community programming.
  • Manage production projects from conception through completion.
  • Create engaging and timely video content across a variety of platforms including social media, invenue video boards, broadcast, and website; capturing, producing, editing, writing and creating content as applicable.
  • Drive storytelling and brand awareness efforts through social media content, intro/hype videos, fan engagement, highlights, and interviews; including shooting and editing content for long form, short form, promotional spots and documentaries.
  • Support the goal of growing the Princeton Athletics brand through content creation duties while maintaining familiarity with current trends and best practices within the industry.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise casual hourly staff and student employees in the execution of creative video functions.
  • Adhere to Ivy League and NCAA rules and regulations.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of three years of sports videography experience at the collegiate or professional level or in the television or other mass communication mediums.
  • Demonstrated storytelling ability across a variety of platforms, preferably in athletics.
  • Ability to produce highquality content while meeting quick turnarounds and deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of professional audio/video equipment and production lighting techniques.
  • Knowledge of current social and digital media trends and specifications.
  • Must be able to work a nonstandard work week when necessary, which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and traveling with the team(s).
  • Ability to uphold the Department of Athletics mission of Education Through Athletics.
Preferred

Qualifications:


  • Video editing experience with Adobe Premiere Pro. Experience with Adobe After Effects preferred.
  • Degree in Sports Management or related field
  • Computer knowledge including Excel, PhotoShop, Illustrator and Publisher.
  • Advanced degree/certifications.
