Job Description Summary


Reporting to the Director, the Assistant Director of the Office of International Services & Engagement (OISE) is responsible department's engagement and retention programming, management of day to day operations, supporting immigration compliance responsibilities, and overseeing the Study Abroad program.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Student Affairs principals and best practices.
  • Knowledge and understanding of student engagement practices.
  • Experience planning and implementing new student orientations and cocurricular events.
  • Knowledge of Federal Regulations pertinent to 8 CFR 214 (f).
  • Knowledge, understanding, and implementation of Federal Regulations pertaining to oncampus employment, CPT, OPT, Change of Status, Reinstatement, I20 program extensions, and SEVIS registration protocols.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of and ability to work in SEVIS environment.
  • Knowledge of University recruitment and admissions practices.
  • Experience in managing student and advisement staff.
  • Experience working in a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
  • Development and continued growth in ones own cultural competency.
Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience of indepth knowledge of programmatic and operational assessment principals and protocols.
  • 3 years of experience in of advisement principles and practices.
  • 3 years of experience in development and implementation of cultural events, educational workshops and new student orientations.
  • 3 years of experience with University Admissions and comprehensive knowledge of Federal Regulations based on 8 CFR 214F.
  • Knowledge and understanding of student engagement practices.
  • Experience planning and implementing new student orientations and cocurricular events.

Duties


Specific Duties

  • ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide supervision and oversight for 1 International Student Advisor and 6 front office student administrative support staff.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the department's qualitative and quantitative data collection systems and protocols to better inform engagement programming and quality of service as well as digitization and archiving of past and present student immigration documentation.
  • Provide recommendations on OISE annual budget development to the Director.
