Job DescriptionScion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Legal Assistant for a local and well-established law firm located in downtown Lake Oswego, OR area This a full-time contract-to-hire role with immense opportunity for growth, as well as the opportunity to join a welcoming, collaborative, and close-knit team

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team The successful candidate will assist our attorneys in all aspects of case preparation, research, and documentation. The paralegal will play a crucial role in supporting our legal team, ensuring that cases proceed smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Organize task lists and deadlines
• Draft legal documents for probate, guardianship, and conservatorship cases
• Liaise with clients, courts, and accountants
• Prepare comprehensive financial accountings
• Compile detailed asset inventories
• Conduct research on estate and trust disputes
• Draft a variety of court pleadings and discovery documents
• Maintain communication with clients and courts
• Manage timelines and case schedules
• Prepare sophisticated estate planning documents including Wills and Trusts
• Facilitate communication among clients and various professionals
• Obtain and analyze property records from title companies
• Create trust funding documents, such as property deeds
• Assist clients with beneficiary designation forms
• Oversee the recording of deeds with county recorders

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or related field.
• Paralegal certificate or relevant work experience preferred.
• Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to effectively summarize findings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in legal research databases and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive and confidential information.
• Previous experience working in a law firm or legal environment

Compensation & Benefits:
This opportunity offers an hourly rate of $29-32/hr DOE. While on assignment, associates are eligible for health benefits through our firm. Upon conversion, you would be eligible for a full suite of our partner's benefits including health, dental, PTO, and more
