    Description
    Under the supervision of the Housing Manager, Assistant Housing Manager and NYCHA's Leased Housing Department (LHD) policies and procedures, the secretary will work with the LHD-Bronx Client Services team to assist with the following:


    • Timekeeping- Kronos
    • Data entry (document processing)
    • Filing (prepping, purging, shredding, boxing)
    • Supply ordering and distribution.
    • General office duties.
    • Processing responses to inquiries from NYCHA Leased Housing Department Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) participants, landlords, public housing agencies, elected officials, advocacy groups.
    • Special projects.

    NOTE:
    Preference will be given to CIVIL SERVICE BRIDGE EXAM# 3971 takers.

    IF THIS APPOINTMENT IS MADE ON A PROVISIONAL BASIS PURSUANT TO 65 OF THE NYS CIVIL SERVICE LAW, NO TENURE OR PERMANENCE ACCRUES TO AN INCUMBENT IN THIS POSITION BY VIRTUE OF SUCH APPOINTMENT.

    Minimum Qualifications

    A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization?

    Skills Requirement:

    You will be required to meet the typing skills requirement by demonstrating the ability to type accurately on a personal computer at a minimum speed of 35 words per minute after errors are deducted.

    You must meet this requirement in order to be appointed.

    Preferred Skills


    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Proficiency in

    Microsoft Office:
    Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. - Knowledge of the Siebel System.
