    Description
    University Procurement Buyer ($30-35/hr)
    Join a
    prestigious educational institution as a University Procurement Buyer, where
    you will be tasked with purchasing a variety of goods and services to ensure
    the best value and cost-efficiency for the institution. This role offers a
    competitive hourly rate of $30-35 and a hybrid work setup, requiring on-campus
    presence just once a week, typically on Mondays. The ideal candidate will
    streamline procurement processes, engage with both new and established
    suppliers, and uphold the highest standards of fiscal responsibility while
    adhering to specified institutional policies.

    Responsibilities:
    Procure materials, components, and services aligning with cost,
    quality, and delivery targets
    Process requisitions swiftly and accurately, following institutional
    guidelines
    Negotiate contracts that accommodate unique terms applicable to
    various provisions
    Drive cost reductions by directing to preferred suppliers
    Act as the point of contact for supplier relations and resolve
    procurement-related issues
    Monitor supplier performance to ensure pricing integrity and
    satisfactory delivery
    Assist with compliance paperwork to adhere to both institutional and
    sponsor policies
    Undertake additional duties as needed

    Qualifications:
    Minimum of two years' experience in procurement
    At least one year of experience in customer service
    Strong written and verbal communication skills
    Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving and decision-making
    abilities
    High organizational and strategic planning skills
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
    Commitment to exceptional customer service and teamwork
    Ability to manage multiple priorities with high attention to detail
    Familiarity with the Coupa system preferred
    Experience in procuring lab equipment, chemicals, and laboratory
    services is a plus
