Description

Procurement Buyer for University - $35/hour

About the opening:

Competitive hourly rate of $35
Hybrid work arrangement, requiring on-campus presence once per week
Works closely with both new and existing suppliers

Responsibilities:

Procure goods and services according to specified cost, quality, and delivery targets
Process requisitions accurately and swiftly, adhering to organizational policies and guidelines
Negotiate contracts with unique terms for various provisions
Reduce costs by directing internal customers to preferred suppliers
Act as liaison between suppliers and various internal departments to resolve procurement issues
Monitor supplier performance, ensuring pricing and service integrity
Assist with compliance paperwork to meet institutional and sponsor policies
Handle additional duties as necessary

Qualifications:

Minimum two years' experience in the procurement field
At least one year of customer service experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated with robust problem-solving and decision-making skills
Excellent strategic thinking and organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Commitment to high-level customer service and effective team collaboration
Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail
Knowledge of the Coupa system preferred
Experience with procuring lab equipment, chemicals, and laboratory services is advantageous
