    General Sales Manager

    We have an outstanding opportunity for a results-focused, highly driven, and experienced General Sales Manager who is ready to take their career and lead our team to the next level As a General Sales Manager (GSM), you would be responsible for the overall sales department's sales goal and objectives, overall profitability, and employee and customer satisfaction. To accomplish this task, the GSM must effectively manage and lead the sales personnel, have a strong knowledge of the local market, and have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the sales department's financial data.

    Responsibilities (including but not limited to)

    • Passionate about sales customer retention and CSI
    • Determine monthly and yearly forecasts in terms of unit sales, gross profit objectives, and departmental profits and balancing new and used car inventory per manufacturer and dealer specs
    • Work with each salesperson & sales manager on specific departmental and individual goals and objectives
    • Create a positive culture for the sales team, with a focus on employee satisfaction and retention
    • Work side-by-side with the Sales Managers on staffing needs, advertising recommendations, hiring, coaching, training, and terminating sales personnel, etc.
    • Conduct weekly sales meetings
    • Work with the marketing firm to create the best overall strategy that can help the dealership meet its goals and objectives
    • Play an active role in the community

    Qualifications

    • Prior experience in dealer management is highly recommended but not necessary
    • Ability to maintain profitability while controlling expenses and maintaining high customer CSI
    • Strong, positive negotiation skills
    • Strong knowledge of vehicle value/pricing trends and the automotive market
    • Strong computer and Internet skills dealing with multiple platforms and programs
    • Strong knowledge and compliance of federal, state, and local regulations

    Requirements

    • Be fully knowledgeable and proficiently rehearsed in all sales processes
    • Proven previous sales and people management success
    • Performance-driven with a need to succeed
    • Must be self-motivated, dependable, ethical, a team player, and committed
    • Maintain a professional appearance at all times
    • Exude strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
    • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and code of conduct

    Certificates/Licenses/Registrations

    • Must have a valid, unrestricted driver's license (you must be insurable).
    • Must maintain a clean, acceptable, and safe driving record.
    • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening requirements which include a social media check, a drug screen & physical, a background check, and a Motor Vehicle Report.
    • Be able to read and comprehend instructions and information in the English language.
