- Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing or related field preferred.
- 1-2 years of retail vendor management, marketing, merchandising and/or category/marketing analytics experience strongly preferred.
- Strategic thinker who understands category management and how it works for an organization and products.
- An analytical mind with a strategic ability and understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods (Be able to proficiently use pivot tables and perform relook ups)
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Execution-focused and detail-oriented with great organizational & problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Maintain a disciplined and integrated approach to increase profitability and improving the speed of inventory turnover within the category.

Job DescriptionLHH is recruiting ASAP for a full-time, Assistant Category Manager for one of clients in the retail/oil/gas categories in the Greater Chicago area. This is a terrific opportunity for an entry-level, category marketer or category analystLocation: Onsite -Vernon Hills, IL
Compensation: $55K-$65K and bonus and benefits
Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, 401K plan, and more. Available paid leave may include Paid Sick Leave, where required by law; any other paid leave required by Federal, State, or local law; and Holiday pay upon meeting eligibility criteria.
Role Requirements:
If you are a passionate marketer, strategic and analytical thinker, have an understanding of category management, pricing, product placement, merchandising, increasing volume of products sold at retail, etc., strong project management skills, value in office team collaboration, and want to work to grow profitability for a category, this role may be for you
