    Job Title: Senior Patient Registration Specialist
    Company Overview: Our company is dedicated to providing top-notch healthcare services to our patients, ensuring efficient and accurate eligibility verifications, documentation collections, and financial assessments.

    Job Purpose:
    The main goal of the Senior Patient Registration Specialist role is to conduct eligibility verification screenings, collect documentation, and perform financial assessments for all clinic patients. This includes confirming eligibility for various programs and insurances such as HIP and Ryan White funded programs, Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act insurances, and Medicaid or Medicare.

    Essential Job Functions:
    - Conduct initial and 6-month eligibility screenings and financial assessments for clients.
    - Coordinate and communicate effectively with other staff regarding eligibility status and access to services.
    - Maintain open communication with inter agency service providers for service coordination.
    - Verify and update patient demographics and insurance information at each encounter.
    - Serve as a backup to the Patient Registration Specialist position when necessary.
    - Input all required patient demographics and information following PHI & HIPAA guidelines.
    - Complete necessary documentation promptly.
    - Stay informed about community-based resources, public benefits, and basic HIV disease and treatment issues.
    - Handle confidential information following HIPAA guidelines.
    - Demonstrate flexibility in response to process changes and adapt to new methods and procedures.
    - Participate in performance improvement activities and ongoing initiatives.
    - Attend in-service and continuing education programs.

    Required Education:
    Bachelor's degree OR three (3) years of experience working in a healthcare setting focusing on patient registration, eligibility verification, and financial assessments.

    Skills, Licensure, and Knowledge Requirements:
    - Experience with Managed Care or Ryan White programs is highly desirable.
    - Proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office, and typing skills. Familiarity with medical practice management software such as Athena Health.
    - Sound knowledge of dental and medical terminology.
    - Excellent verbal, customer service, and written communication skills.
    - Exceptional organizational abilities. Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus.

    Physical Demands:

    The employee must meet the following physical demands to perform the job's essential functions:
    - Stand, sit, talk, hear, use hands and fingers for computer and telephone operations.
    - Specific vision abilities including close vision due to computer work.
    - Light to moderate lifting may be required.

    Work Environment:
    The work environment includes these characteristics:
    - Moderate noise levels in a business office with computers, phones, and printers.
    - Ability to work in a confined area.
    - Ability to sit at a computer terminal for extended periods.

    Travel or Special Requirements:
    Driving during work hours and local or out-of-state travel may be necessary for job duties.
