    Description

    's Space & Sensors team is responsible for the development of unique RF-based sensing systems, such as radar and sonar, from architecture through implementation. The team is also responsible for the development of corresponding spacecraft and constellations in support of 's Operation Tomorrow Space, which will collect data to be integrated seamlessly into our existing forecasting and modeling systems, revolutionizing global weather intelligence.

    We are looking for a Radar Test Engineer to join a cutting edge, multidisciplinary team focused on advancing the design, development and deployment of next-generation spaceborne, airborne and ground-based RADAR and radiometer systems. Applications include, but are not limited to, weather monitoring and remote sensing from space-based and airborne platforms. As a Radar Test Engineer at , you will play a critical role in hardware and sensor development through work including development, execution, and documentation of complex hardware test systems; growing/enabling the hardware test capabilities of , especially through test automation; and ultimately validating systems for operational deployment across underwater, airborne, and in-space environments.

    What you'll do:

    • Work closely with mechanical, digital, RF hardware, software and systems engineers within small engineering design teams
    • Design and document test plans, procedures, protocols, and generate automation scripts to assess, qualify, and verify performance of RF, analog and digital hardware to meet system requirements
    • Set up and build test fixtures, harnesses, and apparatus
    • Complete tests of subsystems and systems; analyze and document results
    • Develop technical reports as well as user guides for RF Systems
    • Provide feedback, recommendations, and design modifications to overcome design limitations and improve performance and testing
    • Track laboratory equipment calibration and supplies
    • Oversee laboratory technicians and staff

    What you bring:

    • B.S. degree in electrical or computer engineering with 3+ years experience testing complex hardware, developing test setups; working with relevant test equipment including, but not limited to network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, noise figure meters, power meters, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
    • Expertise with Linux operating systems and with Python or similar scripting languages, especially as they apply to control and automation of test equipment.
    • Enjoy and understand the importance of documented test procedures and well analyzed test results over broad use environments.
    • Experience with specifications of custom test equipment: breakout boxes, level translators, custom harnesses.
    • Excellent time-management and communication skills.
