    Position Overview

    Sentech Architectural Systems is an Austin-based specialty structural glass design, engineering and manufacturing company that serves the needs of progressive architecture and building industry professionals on some of the most unique and challenging structural glass projects in the world.

    We are currently looking for a well-organized, energetic Procurement Specialist that will support Sentech's operations team in carrying out day-to-day procurement tasks in a project driven environment. The right candidate should have excellent organization, administrative and communication skills, exceptional analytical capabilities and attention to detail and the ability to take initiative and execute critical purchasing tasks. This will be a very fast-moving position that requires taking immediate ownership of procurement.

    Responsibilities in this role include placing and tracking orders, updating relevant procurement spreadsheets and documents, assisting with inspecting inventory and orders, developing material take-offs, maintaining relationships with vendors, assisting with budget and schedule tracking, researching vendors and market trends, and developing intimate knowledge of our industry, materials, and vendors.

    The ideal candidate is a quick learner, and can quickly become familiar with the work processes, standards of practice, and materials and technology used in engineering our structures. This is a dynamic, challenging opportunity to learn the procurement operations of an organization that delivers structural glass projects as part of a matrixed, multi-disciplinary team- all of whom have deep industry experience.

    You should be a self-motivated professional with 3-5 years of progressive experience in a purchasing position, ideally in a manufacturing setting. This is a full-time, onsite position with ample room for learning, development, and professional growth for those who demonstrate the desire and ability to work hard, adapt and learn the complexities involved in the structural glass industry and custom fabrication.

    Responsibilities

    · Develop and solicit bid requests

    · Place and track orders for project materials, shop supplies, and inventory

    · Coordinate, track and commicate shipments

    · Maintain and update relevant schedules, spreadsheets, documents, folders for procurement tracking

    · Collaborate with the operations team to develop advanced bill of materials and take-offs for required project materials

    · Assist with procurement analyses and reporting

    · Monitor and report against project budgets and schedules

    · Coordinate meetings with stakeholders

    · Assist with the inspection of materials and inventory

    · Assist with negotiation strategies and make recommendations

    · Assist with cost-reduction efforts

    · Develop and maintain knowledge of products, materials, vendors and market/industry trends

    Required Skills & Experience

    · Bachelors' degree in a Business or a Construction related field

    · Ability to read blueprints and manufacturing drawings

    · Experience purchasing metal and metal components

    · 3-5 years of experience in purchasing role

    · Experience in a project-based manufacturing organization

    · Experience with cost-reduction efforts in a manufacturing setting

    · Exceptional excel skills

    · Exceptional attention to detail

    · Proven ability to work and establish relationships with team members to drive initiatives

    · Excellent professional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

    · Pro-active, analytical, creative and strategic problem-solver

    Preferred Skills & Experience

    · Estimating experience

    · Experience in the architectural or construction industry

    · Experience building and maintaining purchasing systems

    · Supply chain management

    · Familiarity with import/export regulations and processes, a plus
