We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated 100% Remote Cloud Engineer to join our team and contribute to the ongoing success of our DOD secure cloud infrastructure. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our cloud-based systems and services, with expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Windows environments). In this role you will:

Design, deploy, and manage scalable and highly available cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and assess system architecture for effective cloud solutions.
Develop and implement cloud security measures, including identity and access management, data encryption, and network security.
Monitor and troubleshoot cloud-based systems to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and availability.
Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools and techniques.
Collaborate with development teams to integrate cloud services into application architectures, ensuring seamless deployments.
Conduct regular system audits, capacity planning, and performance tuning to proactively address issues.
Stay updated with the latest cloud technologies, trends, and best practices applicable to our environment.

Required Skills and Experience

Extensive experience in designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS, with expertise in RHEL and Windows environments.
Proficiency in AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, CloudFormation, and CloudWatch.
Solid understanding of Red Hat Linux and Windows Server operating systems, including system administration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
Strong scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation and infrastructure management.
Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration (tools like Kubernetes is a plus).
Strong knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, and VPN.
Strong background in Networking to include Juniper Secure Vector Routing (SVR)
Demonstrated ability to implement cloud security best practices.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

Must have a valid IAT level II certification (i.e., CompTIA Security+(ce)) or be able to get this certification within 90 Days of Start
Bachelors Degree and 10 + Years Experience
Must have a valid DoD Secret clearance

Preferred Skills and Experience

Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with customers and internal cross-functional teams.
Excellent technical documentation and effective written and oral communication skills.
Experience working in an Agile environment.
Experience working in Department of Defense.
