    What we need...
    This role entails handling all release of information (ROI) tasks, specifically managing medical record requests efficiently and accurately to ensure top-quality customer service. The ideal candidate must always prioritize and protect patient privacy rights, ensuring that only authorized individuals have access to medical information and that all information releases comply with regulations.

    Position Highlights
    • Fully remote Lead opportunity
    • Full-time, Monday - Friday 7:30am-4pm

    What We're Looking For...
    • Minimum of 1 year of relevant HIM experience
    • Proficiency in ROI processes, Powerpoint, and Excel
    • Comfortable with training, creating job aides, taking meeting minutes, and collaborating with various teams
    • Strong desire to learn and advance within Datavant

    Responsibilities
    • Process requests for patient health information following Company and Facility guidelines
    • Maintain confidentiality and security of privileged information
    • Stay knowledgeable on Company and facility software
    • Adhere to the Company's and Customer facilities Code of Conduct
    • Inform management of any challenges or fluctuations in workload
    • Handle additional duties as required
    • Ensure meticulous attention to detail when handling medical records
    • Apply medical privacy regulations consistently to prevent unauthorized disclosures
    • Manage patient health records effectively
    • Safeguard patient records and ensure HIPAA compliance
    • Prepare new patient charts and maintain accurate records
    • Create digital copies of paperwork for electronic medical records
    • Respond to requests for patient records and transmit them appropriately
    • Answer inbound/outbound calls and assist walk-in patients as needed
    • Support with administrative tasks like handling faxes, mail, and data entry
    • Assist in training associates in HIM positions
    • Produce reports as directed
    • Participate in projects and committees to drive operational strategies
    • Mentor staff for professional development
    • Address issues, opportunities, or challenges to senior leadership
    • Assist with training, mentoring, and coverage in different regions as required
    • Help with onboarding activities for new employees
    • Support Quality Assurance tasks as assigned
    • Act as a lead regarding general questions and new hire training
    • Conduct training sessions for staff development
    • Perform other duties as necessary

    Qualifications
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • 18 years of age or older
    • Ability to travel between locations as needed
    • Willingness to work overtime during peak seasons
    • 1 year of Health Information related experience
    • Basic computer proficiency
    • Comfort with office equipment like phones, fax machines, and printers
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
    • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance in medical records
    • Proficient in data entry
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently
    • Capable of handling requests in a fast-paced environment
    • Presentation skills for small group settings
    • Problem-solving and forward-thinking capabilities

    Preferred
    • 2+ years of Health Information related experience
    • Meets or exceeds Company's Productivity Standards
    • Previous experience in production or metric-based work
    • Customer service experience in-person
    • Ability to build relationships with clients and customers
    • Comfortable providing input for process improvements and sharing feedback internally

    Working Conditions & Physical Demands

    Work primarily takes place in an office setting with minimal exposure to unpleasant or hazardous conditions. Must be capable of sitting and standing frequently, reaching horizontally and vertically, using office equipment, and lifting up to 20 lbs. Must also function effectively in an environment with constant interruptions.

    To maintain safety, clients might require health screenings and proof of vaccinations. Exemptions can be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by Datavant Human Resources.

    For remote work, a high-speed internet connection and a distraction-free work environment are essential. Full COVID-19 vaccination is a requirement for this position, except where legally prohibited.

    Salary for this role can vary based on location, responsibilities, experience, and other factors.
