    Description

Coursera was launched in 2012 by two Stanford Computer Science professors, Andrew Ng and Daphne Koller, with a mission to provide universal access to world-class learning. It is now one of the largest online learning platforms in the world, with 148 million registered learners as of March 31, 2024.

As a Product Designer at Coursera, you'll be an integral part of our Design, Research, and Brand Creative teams that play a vital role in Coursera's success. Collaborating across growth and platform teams—your role will involve translating learner and partner insights into user-centric experience strategies and design solutions that enhance the platform. A high degree of competency with data and insights is essential to measure and improve learning efficacy and personalization that delivers customized learning at scale. They'll be adept at monitoring trends and advancements in AI and emerging technologies to continuously inform and innovate our learning environment across platforms.

    Responsibilities:

    • Identify customer and business problems worth solving.

    • Closely collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, engineers, data scientists, content strategists, and researchers.
    • Advocate for the learner and influence experience design decisions with peers and stakeholders.
    • Inform and prioritize quarterly roadmaps, projects, and tasks effectively in a strategic Design Lead capacity.
    • Lead by example. Coach and mentor designers on best practices and new advancements in design.
    • Uphold design standards within the team and continuously raise the bar for the quality.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • 8+ years experience as a UX/Product Designer

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Proficiency in design and systems thinking to facilitate workshops, develop solution frameworks, map IA models, craft user flows, wireframes, and construct prototypes.
    • Expert in responsive and accessible web-based design solutions.

    • Expert in design, analytics, and collaboration tools like Figma, Amplitude, Full Story, Jira.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
    • Ability to craft and present findings and proposals in a compelling way to stakeholders.
    • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts and test design solutions effectively.
    • Experience in new product development and user research.

    Nice-To-Have:

    • Experience working across multiple platforms: responsive web, iOS, Android, TV, voice
    • Experience as a course instructor or teaching assistant.
    • Experience leading and facilitating large-scale design-thinking workshops.
