- Create computer models of electrical power systems based on customer supplied data.
- Perform short circuit calculations, overcurrent coordination, load flow and arc flash analyses for customers in the industrial, commercial, and energy fields
- Regularly communicate and meet with customers to ensure the system studies are completed on time and to the customer's specifications
- Perform simulations related to harmonics, transients and stability under the supervision and guidance of a Senior Power Systems Engineer
- Create detailed and accurate customer reports with clear and concise conclusions and recommendations
- Design grounding, heat trace, lighting, panel layouts, single line, and three-line diagrams for low voltage systems
- Perform sizing for cable tray and conduit
- Utilize and apply NFPA and NEC codes in solution development
- Work at customer sites to commission and provide post startup support for projects
- Support customer contracts for 24/7 emergency response and preventive maintenance
- Will be an undergraduate student majoring in Electrical Engineer.
- Must have the ability to travel, sometimes overnight to customer sites For Qual-Tech, this is not a part of a co-op
- Must be able to research and develop design solutions and improvements under the direction of the Engineering Manager
- Will have strong verbal and written communication skills

Working under the direction of the Engineering Manage the Electrical Engineering Co-op will rotate in the Power Systems Division and Engineering, Procurement and Construction Business Unit.
