    About the Role:
     We are looking for an experienced Leader to join our dynamic, service-minded Global Trade EMEA Team which provides Trade compliance and Trade operations services for all businesses and GORE subsidiaries in the region. In this role you will be leading our teams for Export operations and Free Trade Agreements (FTA) while maintaining a hands-on approach to best support our associates in their daily operations, contributing to advance the teams ability to manage export shipments and FTA in a compliant and efficient way in support of business needs. The role can be located in Putzbrunn or Pleinfeld. Gore is a materials science company focused on improving lives through discovery, product innovation and rewarding careers for our Associates.


    Responsibilities:


    • Provide functional and team leadership for the EMEA Export Operations and FTA Team within our Shared Services Team in close collaboration with the Global Trade Leader
    • Provide expert advice and updates to team on current laws and regulations ensuring compliance to current customs regulations
    • Drive team to manage free trade agreement eligibility and requirements for products and related processes to obtain and provide supplier declarations
    • Organize operational work priorities and resource planning to manage service levels and even distribution of workload
    • Maintain a hands-on approach and willingness to support teams in their operational tasks as needed
    • Drive improvements with the team to standardize practices and processes in the region
    • Advise other functions in the OTC process with regards to correct and effective handling of export shipments and free trade agreements
    • Develop and maintain good work relationship with customs authorities, other related government agencies and prepare for and coordinate custom audits or responses to government inquiries
    • Build and maintain strong working relationships with other leaders, internal stakeholders and external advisors

    Required Qualifications:


    • University business degree and/or completed advanced commercial education within supply chain, logistics, international trade or customs compliance
    • Minimum of 5 years experience in relevant people leadership roles, ideally in Supply Chain, Logistics or Trade Compliance areas
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and German
    • Good knowledge of related customs-, trade laws, export requirements and regulations. Ability to transform this into practical solutions and operational processes within the region.
    • Good working knowledge of related trade, logistics and ERP systems and software (e.g. SAP, e2Open and German ATLAS)
    • Well-developed influencing skills and the ability to maintain excellent relationships with customs or other authorities and external partners
    • Good project management skills and good working knowledge of customs systems and software
    • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and deliverables
