    Overview of Morgan Street Holdings:

    Morgan Street Holdings ("Morgan Street") is the holding company and investment arm of the HAVI group of businesses, including Havi Supply Chain, tms, and Stanley. Built on the philosophy of always "delivering the promise", we have a 50-year history of deep customer relationships and employee growth. Morgan Street is focused on investing in, owning and supporting great companies for the long-term. We are privately held by the operating partners and invest our own capital, derived from the cash flows and balance sheets of our businesses.

    The investment mandate for Morgan Street is a two-pronged approach:

    • Investments in North American Companies: We focus on acquiring majority stakes in companies headquartered across North America within the Supply Chain, Business Services, and Consumer sectors. Specifically, we target businesses generating Fifteen million to one hundred million of EBITDA, prioritizing long-term partnerships with family or founder-owned firms
    • Investments in Private Equity Funds: Concurrently, we strategically invest in mid-market U.S.-based Private Equity funds between $500 million and $2.5 billion which align with our sector focus areas. These investments go beyond financial stakes; they are strategic partnerships aimed at fostering mutual value through enhanced networking, market insights, and deal flow exchange

    As part of our ongoing expansion, we are actively looking to grow our team and are looking to hire a senior associate for the investment team. This is a career track role with a meaningful opportunity to help form the Morgan Street team and culture.

    Role Responsibilities:

    • Analysis: Spearhead comprehensive due diligence processes encompassing sophisticated financial modeling, incisive market analysis, and meticulous risk assessments to critically evaluate potential investment opportunities
    • Execution: Engage in all facets of deal execution, offering pivotal support in negotiations, structuring, and documentation to ensure strategic alignment with overarching goals while maintaining clear communication with key stakeholders
    • Market Research: Maintain a pulse on industry trends, competitive landscape, market fluctuations, and emerging opportunities to uncover viable investment themes
    • Reporting and Analysis: Develop detailed reports, compelling presentations, investment memorandums, and rigorous analyses tailored for diverse stakeholders
    • Strategy Development: Actively participate in crafting investment strategies, fine-tuning asset allocation, and conducting thorough market analyses to enhance investment outcomes
    • Team Collaboration: Foster a dynamic and high-performing team environment through proactive collaboration and shared expertise
    • Leadership and Mentorship: Lead and mentor team of junior associates, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to foster their growth and ensure cohesive team performance
    • Management: Partner with management teams to monitor and report on critical metrics, identify business risks, and uncover growth opportunities
    • Networking: Build and nurture strategic relationships with key external stakeholders, including industry experts, advisors, investors, and management teams, to strengthen market position and drive success

    Qualifications:

    • A minimum of two years of pertinent direct investing experience, including at a private equity fund, family office, or a closely related investment fund
    • Advanced expertise in financial modeling, valuation, and comprehensive due diligence methodologies essential for investment analysis
    • Proven experience in conducting investment evaluation, due diligence, and deal execution
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present and advocate for investment recommendations before senior management and key stakeholders
    • Strong work ethic and capacity to independently manage multiple investment processes simultaneously without compromising quality
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills, effectively collaborating within the team and engaging with key stakeholders
    • Analytical mindset, capable of distilling complex financial and market information into actionable insights
    • Skilled in using industry-standard financial software and tools, facilitating thorough analyses and robust reporting
    • Entrepreneurial mindset and an enthusiasm for operating as part of a lean deal team
    • Alignment with Morgan Street's values and culture, demonstrating integrity, accountability, and dedication to long-term success

    Location and Work Expectations:

    This is a Chicago-based role in our new global headquarters (voted one of the coolest new offices in Chicago by Crains) at 345 North Morgan Street in the vibrant West Loop / Fulton Market neighborhood

    This role is in-office at Morgan Street headquarters with the expectation that there will be regular face-to-face meetings with the partners and potential investment funds as well as some travel involved as part of building and managing relationships with our investment partners
