Chesterfield Fire and EMS is looking to fill a part-time Senior Human Resources Technician. This is an on-site position (M-W-F, 8:30am to 5:00pm). The successful candidate must possess exceptional customer service and teamwork skills and be able to multi-task in a shared workspace. As an essential team member of the Chesterfield Fire and EMS Human Resource Division, you will perform a wide variety of clerical, technical, and administrative duties in support of general HR functions.
Here's what you will do:
The Senior Human Resources Technician's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
High school diploma or GED; three years of experience in responsible clerical, secretarial or administrative support work in a human resources environment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Working knowledge of standard office practices and procedures; of basic principles and practices pertaining to human resources administration. Ability to perform a variety of office support and clerical duties and activities in support of human resources activities; to understand, interpret, and apply human resources policies and procedures; to exercise good judgment and maintain sensitive and confidential information, records and reports; to communicate effectively orally and in writing; to operate a personal computer and related software and other standard office equipment; to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience using automated system in a Human Resources environment; experience using online design and publishing tools (i.e. Canva); associate's degree or currently enrolled in a Human Resource Management (or related field) degree program. Knowledge of and/or work experience in a public safety organization desired. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background investigation, and education/degree verification required.

Shift
24-28 hours a week. Monday, Wednesday, Friday; 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with occasional night and weekend support for employment processes and special events.
