    Overview

    The Operations Manager will report to the primary financial advisor and play a crucial role in optimizing the advisor's time. This position requires strong leadership and project management abilities. You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a retail financial services practice specializing in retirement income and investment management. The role includes overseeing new business processing, handling customer service, and addressing key practice areas. Understanding the workings of the retail financial services industry within a broker/dealer environment is essential. Previous experience in practice management and retail advising is highly desirable for this position.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Supervise daily operations of a growing retail financial advisory practice, including managing the sales process and new business requirements
    • Optimize business processes to enhance efficiency while adhering to compliance standards
    • Monitor firm KPIs/KPMs and provide regular updates to leadership
    • Coach and mentor team members, set clear expectations, ensure accountability, conduct evaluations, and offer timely feedback
    • Provide training to junior advisors on sales processes and operations
    • Manage junior advisor targets and sales pipelines
    • Research products, pricing, and resolve complex issues
    • Produce monthly audited reports on new sales/deposits and compensation verification
    • Handle daily incoming mail, ensuring correct distribution, especially for new checks processing
    • Maintain CRM database and uphold client service standards
    • Juggle multiple priorities daily to achieve business goals
    • Establish and nurture relationships with external stakeholders to identify growth opportunities
    • Act as a backup for trading on client accounts and address client queries related to investments
    • Assist in talent acquisition processes
    • Other assigned duties

    Skills & Qualifications

    • Excellent leadership and management abilities
    • Proficient in project and time management
    • Advanced computer skills, including Office 365
    • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills

    Education And Experience

    • Preference for a Bachelor's degree in a business-related field
    • 10+ years of experience in retail financial services
    • 5+ years of management experience
    • Knowledge of Wealthscape, Envestnet, and Redtail platforms is advantageous

    Certifications

    • Preferred certifications include Series 7 and 65/66
