Part -Time Overnight Residential Supervisor

Responsibilities and duties for SMHFC Overnight Residential Supervisor:

  • The Overnight Residential Supervisor is responsible to provide direct oversight over the daily activities of the residential campus. The Campus Supervisor monitors campus grounds, activities & incidents, while promoting the consistent implementation of trauma-informed milieu treatment, services and BBI values and principles.
  • The Overnight Residential Supervisor carries the "supervisor on call' cell phone and walkietalkie while on shift, providing support, direction and/or instructions to staff when called.
  • Walk the exterior and interior of campus buildings throughout the shift to: identify & address concerns; monitor for physical safety/security; ensure that house staff are implementing traumainformed approaches to their treatment and care; and to monitor for consistency among all houses relative to program expectations / policies and procedures.
  • Actively solicit the shift plans on each house (i.e. visits, trips, psychoeducational activities, meal plans etc.) to maintain campuswide awareness. Communicate any changes that need to be made to house staff to maximize campus safety (e.g. postpone trips due to impending storm or due to the potential for staffing support needs in other houses).
  • Assess and modify campuswide staffing combinations on the shift to maximize safety of residents and staff, including moving staff from one house to another when needed.
  • Provide inthemoment support and coaching to all residential house staff members.
  • Provides and/or coordinate assistance for crisis intervention, and makes short term decisions concerning staff and residents.
  • Following each physical restraint, escort or critical incident (SI attempt, fist fight, assault etc.) on the shift, perform a debriefing with the staff involved, as well as with youth who were present or impacted by the incident.

Qualifications for Overnight Residential Supervisor:
Preferred bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
