The Manager Environmental, Health and Safety will be charged with administering and improving EHS programs for Vi-Jon.Key responsibilities include developing assigned locations EHS strategies, implementing policies and procedures, facilitating training, and leading projects to achieve annual targeted reduction goals and efficiency gains.
The Manager EHS Safety must have an understanding of current best practices in EHS.The Manager Environmental Health and Safety works collaboratively with all business teams and supports all areas to assess soundness of the safety environment.
Roles includes understanding the operational risk within all groups, providing related risk assessments and educating all levels and management to achieve overall company goals and minimize financial loss.
Essential Function:
§Responsible for the strategic direction of the safety initiatives and programs in facilities
§Develops, implements, monitors, and manages safety programs, policies, and procedures.
§Ensures the organization complies with all federal, state and local environmental and safety regulations.
§Manage all environmental permitting
§Manage Hazardous Waste program
§First point of contact for all EHS matters.
§Functions as a technical resource to the organization for expertise in EHS functions and collaborates with internal stakeholders and external partners to refine processes and execute projects that support the EHS strategic plan
§Responsible for identifying safety program, policy and culture improvement opportunities and then planning, promoting and implementing corrective actions in partnership with affected departments
§Responsible for supporting daily Health and Safety activities forlocations to include management of policy enforcement, emergency response, accident/incident investigation, audits/inspections, training, record keeping, wellness initiatives, review of SDS forms, etc.
§Drive reduction in accidents/incidents through improvement of communication at all employee levels, understanding employee perceptions of safety programs, engagement of middle and upper management, analysis of leading and lagging indicators, and a proactive mindset for engineering risk out of processes
§Conduct and managesite specificlocal, state and federal requirements for emissions, disposal and reporting
§Manages compliance and testingin support of site specificlocal, state and federal requirements for emissions, disposal , WWTPreporting
§Partner with other site EHS Managers to develop, promote and implement corporate Sustainability projects, collect and validate key metrics and KPIs, waste/scrap reduction, recycling activities
§Provide operational risk direction, guidance and education, and provide input on operational risk issues, e.g. incidents/ complaints/ errors, operational risk part of new products, policies & procedures, business resiliency
§Conduct or coordinate safety related training in the field via new employee orientation ongoing training and retraining initiatives
§Investigate accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine causes and preventive measures; to determine how such accidents might be prevented in the future and to report or review findings from accident investigations, facilities inspections, or environmental testing

Minimum five years EHS Management experience in an industrial or manufacturing, multi-site environment
Environmental/Atmospheric Conditions:
Worker exposed to extreme heat and cold with temperatures sufficiently high or low to cause bodily discomfort.
Exposed to sufficient noise to cause worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.
Worker exposed to hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts.
Works in laboratory, production line, and warehouse environments. Worker will be required to wear appropriate PPE.
Physical Demands:
Standing and walking - 40% of time on job; sitting - 60% of time on job; climbing stairs and ladders - up to 15 times a day; repeated motion of hands (typing) - 30% of time on job; communicating (talking and listening) - 75% of time on job.
