    Premier Placements is a specialized recruiting company for the Manufacturing and Distribution Industry. This position is hired directly with our client and not on contract or through an agency.

    Our client is a mid sized manufacturer located in the Greater Fort Lauderdale area. They have been established over 40 years, they are very stable and have continuous growth. This position is ideally suited to a candidate that has a BS Degree in Business Administration or similar with 2-5 years of experience as a Buyer in the manufacturing industry, someone smart, eager and technically savvy and looking for a long term opportunity to grow with the company.

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Overall responsibility for purchasing of raw materials, managing inventory levels and planning, ensuring quality of purchased products, cost reduction and improving supplier standards. This position will drive the purchasing process focused on continuous improvement, efficiency with professionalism and team collaboration.

    DELIVERABLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Accurately manage order process for multiple locations
    • Enter P.O.'s and follow up to ensure quality and on time deliveries
    • Work with MRP system to determine purchasing requirements and for inventory analysis
    • Source new vendors and manage quoting/bid process and analysis to for vendor selection
    • Manage & resolve delivery, pricing, and/or quality issues in a timely manner
    • complete reports and provide update on progress, potential risks, and plans to appropriate teams
    • Ensure data accuracy in MRP/ERP system
    • Manage Domestic and International Supplier Relationships
    • Monitor shipments to ensure on-time delivery; trace shipments and follow up on undelivered goods
    • Study market prices and trends, industry developments in purchasing, commodities, and/or supply chain
    • Develop, update, and implement improved suppler and lean initiatives to improve process efficiencies and product quality, delivery, cost, etc.
    • Manage Inventory Targets and Customer Service Levels, analyze forecasted demand with historical demand

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and 2-5 years of relevant experience in the Purchasing
    • Must be proficient in MS Office products, including Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Access, etc.
    • Experience working in a manufacturing environment highly desirable
    • Knowledge of MRP/ERP software required; used to a large number of SKU's of over 2,000
    • Experience with vendor selection and negotiating
    • Good decision making and excellent problem solving skills, analytical and able to multitask with a sense of urgency
    • Experience managing inventory levels and determining supply and demand through analysis and forecasting/planning
    • CSCP/CPIM Certified or equivalent preferred but not essential
    • Experience working with both domestic and international purchasing, particularly ASIA
    • Must be familiar with lean manufacturing concepts and procedures
    • Able to travel on occasion as required
