- Works with Director of Engineering, GMs and Corporate Engineering to develop, plan, coordinate and implement a Regional Maintenance Strategy that ties into facility and corporate objectives.
- Works with facility GMs, MSs and Corporate Engineering and EH&S to scope, plan and manage facility Annual and Semi-Annual shutdowns, to include completion of all documentation (i.e. Pre-Task Safety Plans, Pre-Startup Safety Reviews, Test Plans, Engineering Change Requests, etc.)
- Coordinates with Corporate Engineering and Facility GMs and MSs on large engineering projects and General Facility Enhancements (GFEs) within their area of responsibility.
- In conjunction with Corporate Engineering and working with facility MSs, implements predictive equipment monitoring programs within region and identifies ways to expand predictive maintenance.
- Aids facilities in trouble shooting issues impacting effective and safe operation of equipment and systems.
- Works with facility GMs and Quality Assurance Managers (QAMs) to complete an annual Facility Maintenance Management Review.
- Participates in and leads (once qualified) Maintenance Assessments in Region.
- Works with regional MSs to disseminate and implement best demonstrated maintenance practices.
- Trains facility MSs and Maintenance Technicians (MTs), as applicable.
- Working with the Facility MSs, identifies and tracks leading maintenance indicators.
- Ensures that all work completed is within applicable standards as detailed in facility work instructions and company EH&S standards.
- Participates, as necessary, in facility safety programs to aid the facilities safety compliance.
- Ensures that contractors performing work in the facilities meet the minimum requirements of Sterigenics' EH&S program, to include contractor training.
- Becomes qualified as an EH&S Safety Auditor.
- Assists with special projects as directed by the VP of Operations including OpEx initiatives, for example.
- Working with the GMs directs the activities of the MSs, MTs to ensure large projects, annual and semi-annual shutdowns and strategic maintenance initiatives are planned and completed safely, on schedule and within budget
- Provides guidance and recommendations to the GMs for the performance evaluations of MSs and MTs
- Completes an annual evaluation of the Maintenance program to be included in the Facility Maintenance Management Review.
- BS in Engineering. Requirement may be waived for comparable job experience in the field. Electrical and Mechanical strengths required.
- Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience, with a portion of that as maintenance experience with two (2) years in a supervisory capacity.
- Project management experience.
- Specific desired areas of knowledge include:
- Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Electrical including 480 volt 3 Phase
- Understanding of Programmable Logic Controllers and their operation
- Ability to read and comprehend P&ID schematics.
- Hands on mechanical experience
- Regulatory environment knowledge
- Operational Excellence experience, including Lean Six Sigma and 5S,
- Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills -
- Ability to work independently.
- Must be willing to travel within region. Expect travel ~40-50%.

Description
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Regional Maintenance Manager (RMM) is responsible for improving mechanical and operational readiness at designated facilities within region by working with the General Managers (GMs), Maintenance Managers/Supervisors (MSs), Engineering, Quality Assurance (QA) and Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) departments to identify improvements, systemic or localized, that can be made to equipment and systems that will improve its reliability, safety, functionality and maintainability.
The RMM will scope and assist facility MSs with planned facility shutdowns. During said shutdowns, the RMM, will ensure safety and compliance with all procedures, codes and permitted requirements.Working with the Director of Engineering and the facility GMs, the RMM will develop facility specific strategies and priorities that will continually improve the long mechanical performance of facilities by monitoring Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) Metrics in his region and working with the facility MSs to ensure appropriate spares on hand.
