The Max Planck Center for Physics and Medicine is an interdisciplinary, joint research center of Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU), University Hospital Erlangen (UKER), and Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light (MPL).

The research at MPZPM focuses on the investigation of cells in the context of their microenvironment, the space that connects and surrounds a variety of cell types in tissue.


The vision of the scientists at MPZPM is to map and model physical phenomena and link them to specific biological functions.

These phenomena will provide clues on how cell stiffness correlates with the spread of cancer metastases, how immune cells respond to disruptions, what microenvironment is needed for the regeneration of damaged neural tissue, or how a virus leads to widespread infection.

We are currently seeking a full-time
Animal Facility Manager (m/f/d) to join our team at the earliest possible date. The position is initially limited to 2 years, with the possibility of extension. Salary will be based on personal qualifications and experience, in accordance with the E13 to E15 TVöD pay scale.
