    The Market Director role is a great opportunity to join a strong Chapter team and work closely with the Executive Director and regional team and outstanding volunteer leaders to increase the reach and impact of the Chapter.


    The Market Director will lead and manage the development staff in East and West Tennessee and will have oversight for meeting KPIs and goals in these markets.

    In addition, the Market Director will have responsibility for Chapter operations and maintain a portfolio of donors and corporations, with a focus on developing new business and donor pipeline development.


    Included with the Market Director's roles and responsibilities will be strategic oversight of corporate development and supervision of a team of three staff.

    This is a Hybrid position located in Brentwood, TN


    Supporting Details:

    • Revenue accountability of more than $2MM annually with desired (minimum) 5% YOY growth.
    • Develops and executes plans for retention, upgrade and acquisition (pipeline development) of applicable area of business focus.
    • Formulate, implement, and lead strategies and tactics for chapter fundraising and Development activities to sustain continued growth, maximum penetration of core market areas and opportunities for expansion where appropriate.
    • Analyze effectiveness of events and have strategic discussions with key steak holders to assess impact/needs.
    • Provide strategic direction and active leadership for corporate partnership development.
    • Assume lead role in developing committee structure, volunteer relationships and the placement of volunteers in leadership roles. Build and implement committee annual plans.
    • Direct and manage Development staff in East and West Tennessee. Participate in staffing decisions and evaluate staff. Communicate and set expectations clearly and appropriately. Provide ongoing growth and development by motivating, developing, and directing staff and volunteers as they work to achieve JDRF and Chapter's priorities.
    • Collaborate with an outstanding team of local staff as well as national/regional staff resources to ensure the Chapter's growth and success, discuss best practices, and share new ideas.
    • Work with Executive Director and staff in developing assigned budgets and timelines.
    • Collaborate and integrate effectively with all chapter staff and volunteers and provides subject matter expertise in trainings, meetings, and presentations as needed.
    • Work with all applicable online tools with emphasis on tracking of all significant plans, opportunities, and activities in the Salesforce CRM database.
    • Manage special projects as opportunities arise.
    • Represents the best interests, professionalism, and integrity of JDRF in all activities and relationships through a unified message of JDRF's mission and a commitment to organizational standards and leadership by personal example.
    Qualifications


    • 8+ years fundraising experience with demonstrated success in generating revenue.
    • 5+ years direct supervisory responsibility.
    • Bachelor's Degree required. CFRE a plus.
    • Expertise in data analysis and motivating staff with data.
    • Solid understanding of budgets and profit and loss statements.
    • Team player with ability to interface with all levels of staff and volunteers.
    • Familiarity with volunteer/staff partnerships in achieving desired outcomes.
    • Capability to leverage relationships and negotiate agreements.
    • Exceptional management, leadership, and team-building skills.
    • Superior active listening, observation, analytical, and problem recognition and solving skills.
    • Understanding of computer systems and databases. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint), Salesforce
    • Excellent written, oral, and communication skills. Ability for presentation delivery, conveying ideas, and instructing effectively.
    • Ability to travel required. Overnight travel as needed. Up to 30% travel expected. Occasional evening and weekend work required as needed.

    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
