Job DescriptionKEY OBJECTIVESThe Assistant Vice President Ceded Reinsurance Billings is responsible for all aspects of notifying, billing and collecting from reinsurers on complex direct accounts with limited guidance from the VP Ceded Reinsurance Billings and SVP Reinsurance.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Appropriate and timely analysis, processing, noticing billing, answering queries and collection of ceded reinsurance on complex long-tail claims Independently and proactively manage assigned accounts, interact with direct claims team and interact/negotiate with reinsurers as necessary Ensure related financial records are accurate and internal controls are adhered to throughout the billing process Develop, and present to management, strategies for resolution of disputed billings through dispute management process Coordinate with and support the Ceded Collections Team and the legal team, with collections, dispute resolution, and management of Sch.
F penalties Coordinate with and support actuarial and finance teams with establishing appropriate ceded and bad debt reserves Prepare and/or contribute to various management reportsQualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 4 year college degree and 10 years' experience notifying, billing and collecting complex, long-tail ceded reinsurance claims.
Law degree a plus. Experience interpreting and analyzing the application of reinsurance contracts and underwriting and placing records. Experience managing or participating in disputed/litigated reinsurance matters.Significant reinsurance claim audit experience Ability to work independently Strong research and analytical skills Strong factual and persuasive writing skills Experience in negotiating disputed claims to final resolutionAbout UsChubb is a world leader in insurance.
