    Job Description

    This position will be an integral part of the Chubb Reinsurance Services accounting processing team that leverages cutting edge technology to efficiently manage billions of dollars in reinsurance. This position will maintain the accounting for assigned North American reinsurance agreements, including receivables, payables, cash application, collections, account reconciliation and communication with third parties.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Prepare, disburse, and settle monthly and quarterly accounts in accordance with contract terms.
    • Work internally and with third parties to verify receipt of billings, initiate collection of open balances in accordance with established procedures, respond to queries, resolve receivable and payable discrepancies, and elevate unresolved collection issues.
    • Ability to interpret various reinsurance contract wordings and comply with contractual requirements.
    • Prepare manual journal entries.
    • Research and resolve accounting and statistical discrepancies.
    • Monthly review of the reinsurance premium and loss sub ledger to ensure accurate account balances. Formulating action plans in order to resolve aged balances.
    • Assist with the preparation of monthly and quarterly ceded reinsurance financial reports.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree - Accounting, Finance, Business, or related degree.
    • Recent graduate with 0 years of experience; or up to 3 years of reinsurance or accounting experience.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • Ability to multitask and establish priorities to address objectives.
    • Ability to work independently and within a team.
    • Ability to identify/analyze situations or issues and determine practical/innovative solutions.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and PeopleSoft is preferred.
