The Problems You'll Solve
The National Service Program Coordinator will join two other program coordinators, and each will lead

and support key elements of NYC Service's national service (AmeriCorps) programs, reporting to the

National Service Professional Development & Member Support Director. Responsibilities include but

are not limited to the following:

_Member and Host Site Management _

  • Oversee approximately 40 AmeriCorps members serving at host sites across the City,
supporting members throughout their service term.

  • Conduct inperson site visits and ensure member compliance on AmeriCorps procedures and
processes.

  • Manage relationships with host site supervisors and NYC Service AmeriCorps members.
  • Manage aspects of NYC Service AmeriCorps program compliance including approving
timesheets and submitting payroll bi-weekly.

  • Coordinate the monthly collection, reporting, and validation of metrics from AmeriCorps
members and organizational partners.

  • Write elements of funding midterm and final reports and provide program information support
on grant funding requests, including collecting member testimonials.

  • Update existing and create new content for the member and supervisor handbooks, program
manual and NYC Service operations manual.

  • Manage aspects of program development and logistics for NYC Service AmeriCorps training and
events.

  • Lead 1 of 3 supervisor meetings that span across all 3 AmeriCorps programs.
  • Facilitate monthly cohort calls and biweekly office hours for the AmeriCorps members you
oversee.

  • Lead the selection process for members to become part of a member committee.
  • Coordinate and facilitate member committee meetings to aid in the execution of committee
projects.

  • Design and execute National Days of Service for members across all 3 AmeriCorps programs.

_Program Support _

  • Lead the program evaluation process for NYC Service AmeriCorps programs including
facilitating the RFP process, managing the vendor, supporting data collection, and selecting

comparison groups and other participants.

  • Participate in internal host site and member recruitment committee.

  • Participate in the recruitment process for AmeriCorps members including attending career fairs,
conducting phone screens, and assisting in the interview matching process between applicants

and host sites.

  • Facilitate exiting process when members exit from the AmeriCorps program including sending
members next steps and exiting them from the AmeriCorps system.

  • Support alumni engagement efforts.

_Advance NYC Service Mission, Values, and Goals _

  • Represent NYC Service at select events.
  • Be available on select weekends and on select evenings for projects.
  • Provide project support with other service activities and programs, as needed, including
emergency volunteer response.

  • Support City initiatives as needed, including but not limited to possible emergency response
and recovery.


About You

  • Bachelor's Degree OR High School Diploma + 3 years relevant experience (Minimum)
  • Background in social work, counseling, or another social/human services field a STRONG plus
  • Background in training, curriculum development or event management a STRONG plus
  • Commitment to national service programs and volunteerism (AmeriCorps alumni a plus)
  • Experience or comfort in individual counseling, problem solving, and guiding others through
complex circumstan
