Position Overview:

Is responsible for all aspects of clinical study performance.

Fosters and maintains collaborative relationships between patients, their family/support group, physicians, and other healthcare providers through timely and effective communications.

Adheres to hospital polices, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws/regulations and codes to promote a quality, highly reliable patient experience.

Recruits meritorious Phase II and Phase III clinical research studies with associated funding appropriate to the patient population.
Consults with hospital, clinic and community nurses, pharmacists, dietitians, physicians and other health care providers concerning clinical research issues.
Collaborates with other clinical departments as appropriate in development and implementation of clinical research studies.
Ensures that routine and priority tasks are completed within established departmental time frames.
Mentors and fosters a constructive teaching environment that helps students and new teammates build confidence in their skills, knowledge and abilities.

EDUCATION:

Other: Graduation from an accredited nursing program.

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:

RN-Registered Nurse of California
BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

5 years recent relevant experience

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Verbal and written communication skills for frequent and challenging contact with physicians, employees, patients and patient families; requires patience and compassion.
Analytical skills for interpretation of clinical studies, research and other related materials.
Knowledge of Federal and State regulations and International Guidelines related to Good Clinical Practices in clinical research.
Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Knowledge and competence with regard to nursing theories, concepts and practices; medical terminology; anatomy; and physiology.
Working knowledge of the healthcare industry, safety precaution policies, best practices regarding patient care and privacy, and changes in local/state/federal regulations.
Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including nonmedical people.
