Political Director
Salary:
$80,000 - $90,000 annually, commensurate with experience
The Political Director is responsible for crafting and implementing ADPs outreach plans, to grow the Partys political influence, and expand the organizations relationships with stakeholders The Political Director is responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships with diverse community groups, activists, and Democratic partners to build strong coalitions and alliances.
The Political Director willCreate a strategy and outreach plan for increased voter engagement by creating and executing both high-visibility events and smaller, more private sessions with voters and key party leaders
Utilize voter data and analytics to inform campaign strategies, track progress, and identify areas for improvement
Coordinate and serve as a staff liaison to ADPs constituency-based caucuses and/or councils
Deep knowledge of understanding of Arizonas political landscape is required
This position reports directly to the ADP Chair and Executive Director.
Essential Job Functions
Responsibilities
Working with the Executive Director and staff to write and implement ongoing political outreach plans to raise awareness of Democratic candidates within key communities.
Supervising and accountability of Political Department staff in meeting goals and metrics.Supporting departments with planning and building for small and large events.
Work with the State Party recognized Caucuses and Councils to devise an electoral program or to support an existing state-based electoral program that builds representation and power in the community and measures success.
Engage with state or national committees, political campaigns, or non-profit organizations.Position Requirements
Skills
Knowledge of, and experience within, the Arizona political landscape and Arizona Democratic Party infrastructure.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with groups and individuals on behalf of the ADP; ability to persuade and negotiate.
Ability to organize and maintain records of relevant meetings and interactions with dozens of individuals and groups throughout the 15 counties.
Demonstrates organizational, interpersonal, and presentation skills.Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and strong attention to detail.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities change rapidly.
Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
Experience with conflict resolution.
Self-starter who can work independently and show initiative.
Strong principle management

Improve community relations by
Facilitating community meetings to bridge the gap between local communities and the State Party.
1:1 community interaction with organizations and influential leaders.
Increasing communications of party related activities that promote shared values, goals and future sustainability of the community.
Educate the community by providing awareness of party activities through training, town halls, etc.
Provide opportunities for access and resources to communities.
