Experience:
• 12 months of role experience is required.
• 24 months of Intensive Care Unit experience is preferred.
• 3 months of travel experience is required.
• Experience with Epic is required.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a South Dakota license or compact license prior to placement start.
• Candidates must live at least 100 miles away from this facility in order to be eligible to apply for this role.
• COVID vaccination required for onboarding. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
Pre-employment modules may be required for this role. Please upload any certifications or health documents you have to your profile to expedite your on-boarding process.
Additional Details:
If they have 1.5 years of ICU experience EXCLUDING travel and have significant RN experience outside of ICU, please have CRT send to management team for approval
Patient Types:
• Complex ICU patients ranging from surgical, medical, cardiac (preferred), neuro and trauma
• Diagnoses include: ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, COVID, s/p cardiac cath, post-surgical, multiple system trauma – heavy trauma population
• Cardiac experience is preferred (not required): CABG/TAVR – 24 to 48 hrs post op experience is preferred but not required for travelers
• Will not take fresh open hearts unless they are experienced, and the facility felt comfortable with this – given to permanent staff
Please decline travelers that would not be willing to obtain TNCC prior to arrival
Required Education: Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing
Skills required:

-PCU RN qualified to float to ICU
• Experience with IV medications (vasopressors, sedation, paralytics), hemodynamic lines, proning, ventilator management, telemetry, strong critical thinking and assessment skills, working well in team setting, comfortable in fast pace setting with all critical patients.
• Impella, IABP and CRRT – strongly preferred
Floating: Not common unless overstaffed. Could float to any adult floor – including Medsurg/Tele with 1:4 ratio. Confirm traveler comfortability during interview
Scheduling:
• Every Other Weekend
• No RTO during holidays
• Approval of time off: Up to 7 days – must extend to accommodate a full 13-week contract. No RTO during Sturgis Bike Rally (first 3 weeks in August every year)
Scrub Color: Navy
Monument Health blackout dates for RTO are 8/1/24 - 8/18/24.
