Description

We are representing a pre-IPO opportunity with a biotech company located in Carlsbad, CA.

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant candidate with a hands-on, start-up mentality to join their Finance team of 4, with 3 more positions being added by year-end.

With their Series C funding secured and new ERP systems implemented, this is an immediate growth opportunity with a company expected to go public in 2025.

Responsibilities

Manage the monthly financial closing procedures for the corporate accounting division, including the creation of journal entries and reconciliation of accounts.

Contribute to the preparation of department-level and consolidated financial statements.

Analyze monthly and quarterly actual results against the established plan and produce a range of reports stemming from this analysis.

Compile organized documentation to facilitate the smooth execution of our annual financial statement audit.
Assist in generating standard and ad-hoc reports for the CFO and Director of Finance.
Proactively identify opportunities to enhance internal controls and optimize our business processes.
Take charge of accounts receivable by independently generating invoices, overseeing customer collections, and producing associated reports.

Review accounts payable invoices for completeness and approval prior to payment, and offering support to department leaders and vendors in response to various accounts payable inquiries.

Help with the administration of Concur and the corporate credit card program.
Maintain 1099 data for vendors and provide assistance in fulfilling annual reporting obligations.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.5+ years of relevant accounting experience.
Ideally having exposure to a related industry (Biotech, Med Device, Healthcare, or Manufacturing)CPA or Audit experience preferredERP experience - NetSuite is a plus
