- Manage daily processes and serve as the main contact for after-hours claims and investigations
- Help with internal audits, training for electronic logging devices (ELD), and emergency management system development
- Support vendor relations, property, and fleet insurance functions, and the preparation and maintenance of safety compliance documentation
- Review and analyze freight, cargo and other claims from various sources
- Handle workers' compensation claims, including investigations and compliance
- Investigate claims thoroughly, gathering evidence and interviewing involved parties
- Determine the cause and extent of damage or loss
- Work with internal teams, carriers, and insurance providers to resolve liability and other disputes
- Communicate with customers to gather information and address concerns
- Use negotiation skills to achieve positive outcomes while maintaining good relationships
- Maintain accurate records of all claims and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable law
- Generate reports to track claim activity and assist with departmental documentation
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding any claims
- Address customer inquiries and provide updates on claim status and progress
- Ensure prompt and professional communication throughout the process
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies
- Recommend updates to policies and procedures
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices through training programs
- Basic skills in mathematical calculations
- Basic knowledge of legal issues concerning claims
- Strong analytical skills for data interpretation and decision-making
