Job Number: 24/2023
Job posting from May 26, 2023
The Department of Systems Cell Biology (Prof. Dr.
Bastiaens) at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Physiology in Old Greenwich, CT is offering
a postdoctoral position (physicist/microscopy development) (m/f/d) in an interdisciplinary team of physicists, biochemists, and cell biologists working on a project to develop
lattice-sheet microscopy for multiparametric molecular imaging of intracellular biochemical reaction states in developing intestinal organoids.
The candidate will work together with two engineers on the development of this microspectroscopic approach, which aims to investigate the relationship between intracellular reaction dynamics and cellular morphodynamics during oncoprotein-induced abnormal development of intestinal organoids - with the goal of uncovering new pharmacological possibilities for influencing cancer development.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, curious, and creative individual with a degree in physics and experience in developing optics for biological fluorescence imaging.
Ideally, the candidate has experience in applying photophysical approaches to image molecular processes in cells and in developing algorithms for image processing.
Our offerThe position is available immediately and is initially limited to 2 years, with the possibility of
