    HDR is looking for a Senior Project Accountant to support our Project Managers across the country as well as the Finance Director.This role will engage in projects primarily related to environmental consulting, engineering design and construction oversight for Federal clients.This role is expected to play an integral part in assessing KPIs and a project's overall financial health.The candidate must possess strong critical thinking skills, be a self-starter and a team player.

    Primary Responsibilities

    In the role of Senior Project Accountant, we'll count on you to:
    • Provide detailed analysis and reporting on project budgets, spend rates and variance analysis
    • Work closely with project managers to:
      • Assist with project cost estimates and re-forecasts (cost-to-completes) and earned value management
      • Ensure that risks and opportunities are integrated into the schedule and budget
      • Analyze the project schedule ensuring the schedule is reasonable and attainable
    • Support project managers and senior management with monthly business reviews and periodic project reviews
    • Assist the Finance Director with monthly revenue recognition including understanding the financial impacts to project budgets, multiplier expectations, etc.
    • Prepare and analyze various ad hoc reports
    • Perform other duties as needed

    Qualifications
    • Associate degree in a closely related field or combination of education and relevant experience
    • Minimum 10 years of experience; an advanced degree may offset years of experience
    • Understands the scope of work to sufficiently build and status schedules, cost plans, spend plans, within a variety of project controls tools
    • Flexibility and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and collaborate with various managers in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including grammar, punctuation, proofreading, spelling and telephone skills
    • Self-motivated, well-organized and detail-oriented
    • Ability to handle confidential information
    • Proficiency with MS Office including Excel
    • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
    • Federal contracting experience
    • Background in Oracle EBS is a plus
