At Houston Methodist, the Registry Associate is responsible for complete, accurate, and timely data collection and data entry in accordance with assigned registry and regulatory guidelines; assures quality of data submission by collaborating with external reporting team and participating in continuous improvement programs; supports manager with other activities as it pertains to external reporting.


PEOPLE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Communicates with the team and management any unusual findings or variances with collected data.
  • Communicates with management any issues with meeting timelines and submission deadlines.

SERVICE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provides data entry support to registry abstractors as needed.
  • Runs reports necessary for registry and regulatory reporting or data submission as scheduled.
  • Provides organizational and clerical support to manager and/or registry lead.

QUALITY/SAFETY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Reviews quality of data collection and entry completed by assigned data abstractors in accordance with registry and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintains established standards for rate of accuracy with submission of registry data by communicating quality issues to responsible personnel within the department.
  • Updates registry databases with changes as they arise.
  • Communicates with the team and management any issues with quality, completeness, and accuracy of data collected and entered in the database.

FINANCE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Completes assigned work to meet submission deadlines and additional requests within set timeframe or as agreed upon.

GROWTH/INNOVATION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Keeps abreast of new registry or regulatory updates as it pertains to assigned registry or reporting requirement.

EDUCATION

  • High School diploma or equivalent education (examples include: GED, verification of homeschool equivalency, partial or full completion of postsecondary education, etc.)

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of one year of experience in heathcare data management

  • Demonstrates the skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job, determined through ongoing skills, competency assessments, and performance evaluations
  • Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language necessary to perform the essential functions of this job, especially with regard to activities impacting patient or employee safety or security
