- Supervises mechanics and checks finished work.
- Investigates and troubleshoots all mechanical equipment.
- Locates replacement parts and substitutes as needed.
- Determines when shut downs are necessary and estimates downtime.
- Oversees repair procedures and assists in defining extent of problem.
- Plans and prepares work schedules and wash up days.
- Requisitions materials.
- Trains, promotes, disciplines, and terminates subordinate personnel.
- Communicates with vendors.
- Abides by all safety rules set forth by company and government regulatory agencies and ensure that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
- Responsible for the recruitment, performance, development, promotion, and discipline of production employees. Assigns objectives and conducts performance appraisals of direct reports.
- All other tasks and/or responsibilities as assigned.
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and
- three (3) to four (4) year-related experience and or/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
