Duties

This role is based in Intelligence & Analysis (I&A), Operations Support (OS) at the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As the Director of the Security Threat Assessment Division (STAD), you will lead a large operational organization spread across TSA Headquarters, Annapolis Junction, MD, and Colorado Springs, CO.

Serving as a technical expert and primary advisor on credential adjudication to the Executive Director of Vetting, the Assistant Administrator (AA), and Deputy Assistant Administrator (DAA) for Intelligence & Analysis. Providing strategic and tactical analyses on credential vetting information related to threats to the transportation sector.
Advising TSA executive leadership on transportation security, credential adjudication, and forecasting trends. Formulating effective security policies and operations to support commerce flow and industry stakeholder requirements.
Overseeing security threat mitigation cases and coordinating interagency responses for credential adjudication issues.
Leading security threat assessment operations, managing processes and training, and enhancing capabilities to support credential vetting programs.
Improving overall efficiency in security threat assessment and credential adjudication operations. Notifying senior leadership of potential threats to transportation security.
Developing and implementing adjudication policies and procedures for TSA credentialing. Coordinating new credential program startups and necessary program changes.
Representing TSA to government security, law enforcement, and judicial entities. Maintaining relationships with various agencies including the FBI and other DHS components.
Supervising and managing subordinate staff. Setting goals, adjusting priorities, and ensuring performance standards are met. Providing developmental opportunities and training for employees.
