Main Purpose of Job

The Director of Psychology, Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center is responsible for the overall day to day administration and supervision of the Department of Psychology; CTPHC is a large 289 bed maximum security forensic State psychiatric facility. The Director of Psychology is the responsible state official for psychological care delivery to patients at CTPHC and receives managerial supervision from the Clinical Director, CTPHC or the CEO, CTPHC.\r

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Requires a Doctorate in Psychology from an accredited college or university acceptable to the Maryland Board of Examiners of Psychologists and five (5) years of experience in forensic psychology, including performing pretrial evaluations on court involved psychiatric patients and 5 years of experience leading or supervising doctoral or other psychology staff.\r

The incumbent must obtain a current Maryland license to practice as a Psychologist from the Board prior to appointment.�\r

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Candidates must be licensed as a Psychologist by the Maryland Board of Examiners of Psychologists prior to appointment to a position in State service. Applicants who do not have a Maryland license may also apply pending receipt of the required license.\r
