Job Title: Benefits Specialist

FLSA Status: Exempt

Reports To: Compensation & Benefits Manager

JOB SUMMARY: The Benefits Specialist serves as a subject matter expert and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of assigned health, welfare, leave of absence, and retirement programs for the Wright Family of Companies.

Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers. Develop communication tools to enhance understanding of the company's benefits package. Design and/or distribute materials for benefits orientations, open enrollment, and summary plan descriptions. Provide training and support to the human resources department.
Support management in administration of various health, welfare, and retirement benefits programs (e.g., medical/prescription, dental, vision, FSA, life, STD, LTD, 401(k), ESOP, ADA and leave of absence, etc.)
Ensure administration of employee benefit programs remains consistent with the goals and standards established by Wright Service Corp.
Serve as the daily contact for benefits broker, plan vendors, and third-party administrators. Coordinate transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums, and plan administration. Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes. Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations.
Coordinate daily benefits processing. Oversee life events and enrollments, ADA and leave of absence, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, premium arrears, rollovers, QDROs, QMCSOs, distributions, and withdrawals. Maintain benefits databases, execute file exchanges, and update payroll records.
On an ongoing basis, process benefits funding, billing, and reconciliations. Report discrepancies with the vendor.
Research and resolve benefit issues, partnering with internal departments and external stakeholders
Provide a high level of responsiveness and proactive approach to problem resolution with employees and service providers
Coordinate with multiple service providers regarding benefit processes such as plan changes and enrollments
Provide analytical and technical support in the delivery of the benefit programs. Maintain and audit benefits data relative to premiums, claims, use, costs, and utilization.

Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintains knowledge of and follow all company policies and procedures.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Associate's degree; Bachelor's degree preferred
Minimum 3 years in benefits administration/support role, highly preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Working knowledge of laws and regulations for the proper administration of employee benefit programs
Ability to make independent decisions and resolve employee relation issues; ability to handle sensitive personnel matters in a confidential fashion
Strong organizational skills and tendencies; the ability to work on multiple tasks and projects concurrently; extremely detail-oriented
Demonstrate excellent customer service requiring professionalism, tact, and discretion. Communicate effectively with all levels of employees, vendors, and guests.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Acrobat products.
Benefits administration experience in an HRIS (Workday, Oracle, ADP or similar)
Ability to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced, and ever-changing environment.
Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and to interact and communicate with employees and vendors.
Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish is highly preferred.
